Manzanita - The downstairs sitting room is quaint and comfortable. From the front door you step up into this room, which has a rattan settee, sleeper sofa, rocking chairs, big and small, a seagull tapestry on the wall, and a model sailboat sitting on the top shelf. This room comes complete with flat screen TV and DVD player. There is also a downstairs bedroom with bunk beds and a warm, country feel. Light throughout this house is provided by skylight. Located upstairs are the living room, kitchen, dining room and master bedroom. The dining room, which has a beautiful window seat, leads to the outside deck, which has Adirondack furniture and an exceptional ocean view. The kitchen has an island range and country accents. The bedroom is warm and inviting and the bathroom has a lighted vanity. The most interesting room upstairs is the observation/ living room. This room has a telescope for ocean- viewing, comfortable furnishing, a wood burning stove, and a TV for long hours of rest and relaxation. This home has lots of room and sailing charm. A plaque in the bedroom says it all: “Guests-You are welcome here-be at your ease, get up when you want, go to sleep when you please- you don't have to thank us or laugh at our jokes, sit deep, come often, you're one of the folks-“ TWO CAR LIMIT

Entering on the lower floor, you climb up narrow stairs to the main living area with an open floor plan, ocean view & pellet stove. So nice to be a part of the action even while preparing dinner, seeing & hearing the ocean all the while.
This house feels very cabin-like with all the natural wood finishes & vaulted ceilings. The real surprise is how private & isolated the house feels even though it is literally just a few yards from Manzanita's town center. A nice master suite completes the upstairs living area. Bathrooms (one upstairs & one down) are both great.
Two things to note. The lower double bunk bed downstairs is very uncomfortable. The oven is smaller than normal, so don't think you will be cooking a big turkey in there.
I thank the owners of this home for sharing it. We had a great time, as always. It was our third time renting that home. It may be our last, sadly, as one family member is now having trouble with the stairs.

This was our second time staying at the Seashell Cottage in Manzanita. The Sunset Vacation Rental Company is so friendly and professional. They gave us a great rate. The cabin is a stone's throw from the beach and an easy walk to downtown Manzanita. Hands down our favorite vacation destination!

This was a wonderful beach retreat! The cottage was cozy and comfortable and the weather was amazing! We walked on the beach, surfed and swam in the ocean, hiked up to Falcon Head and enjoyed dinner and relaxing - in the sunshine - on our beautiful seaside deck, then indoors to a movie, craft projects and reading by the pellet stove ... with always the sound of the ocean just outside our door.

Very pleased with our stay. Property is behind another house, but still has very nice views of the ocean from the upper (main) level. The description doesn't do justice to how great a location this is: it has easy access to the beach and is very close to the main street (Laneda), yet we were never bothered by street noises.

The only reason I gave the property's condition a 4 instead of 5 was that the QC/supplies person had apparently never come through after housekeeping, so we didn't have laundry soap and were short on some other supplies like kitchen liners, TP, etc. These weren't issues for a 2-day stay (other than we weren't able to do the required clean-up laundry at departure time), but it was an apparent property management oversight.

This was the 2nd time we've stayed in Sea Shell and we loved it. Great view and location just steps from the village and beach, a layout that lends itself to both privacy and group activities, plenty of cook & serve-ware, and the sweetest window nook for reading (everyone fought over it!). Can't wait to go back.

Thank you for a most rejuvenating weekend at Sea Shell Cottage...moments from the beach, we walked up and down the wide expanse, breathing in the salt air and enjoying the mists off the ocean...ordered a homemade pie for my son's birthday celebration from the local market. YUM!...The cottage was clean, very well-equipped all around, homey and cozy and none of us wished to leave...but we shall be back! I have rented this home in June for ten days for a summer family vacation for my grandson and his mommy and daddy and my Jack Russell doggy...fantastic lay out of rooms give one the feeling of great privacy and space...and both bathrooms are roomy and perfect to accommodate our family!

This place has a really relaxed & comfortable vibe. The separate floors gave my friends and I some privacy, and the kitchen / dining area with big windows provided a great central meeting place. The house feels really open and has amazing deck that must be fabulous in the summer. The only thing missing is a hot tub. :)

While the house is 1 block from the beach, it is actually about a 3 block walk to access the beach. However, this house has a great view of the beach and a great window seat to watch it from and also a very nice deck. Kitchen was easy to work in, but it could use a few more pans for baking.Enjoyed our stay very much.

We loved Manzanita. Mother Nature’s Natural Food store was great, excellent selection of basics and wonderful granola.. Manzanita Grocery & Deli has a great deli and wine selection. We purchased extra bread from Bread and Ocean to take home to Seattle; try the ham & cheese rolls. Left Coast Siesta is worth the stand in line. Marzano’s Pizza Pie makes a mean pie! Work those calories off with a long walk on the beach, some body surfing (bring your neoprene) and some world class kite flying and kite surfing. The cliffs and beach are beautiful! This is a dog friendly town, visit Four Paws on the Beach for all your pooch’s needs. We’ll be back!

Being a huge fan of the Cannon Beach and Manzanita area, we were excited to bring family from out of town to visit and show off the coast. This was the first time we spent the night in Manzanita. The house we stayed in was perfect. Close walk to the beach, 2 separate living areas and bedrooms which was nice since we have 2 kids and my brother had his girlfriend along. We felt right at home. We can't wait to go back!
