  The house was great, the beach was near and so was the state park, which had free activities for the children. We fell asleep and awoke to the sound of the surf. The play area in the grage for the children was especially helpful. The only disappointment
  was the lack of a usable grill. We would definitely come back to this house again.

  We had plans to stay in Manzanita at a home we rented through Sunset Vacation Rentals. The owners of the home decided at the last minute to come and stay. The property manager was fabulous about finding me a comparable home, which turned out to be a much nicer home than we were going to rent. We would rent Sprindrift again as it had room for all the kids to play and the grown ups to still have plenty of space.

  We had a great time! The house was terrific. Our bed was soooo comfortable! The ping pong table in the garage was a big hit. Location's perfect for us...just a few houses from the beach, walking distance to town, quiet part of the beach. I wanted to stay much longer!!! The only thing I would change is better knives for cooking and more dish towels. I wouldn't change anything else! Thank you!

  Great place, we had an excellent time. If I was to change anyting it would be the beds. They are very hard. Maybe an eggcarton or something on top would make them more comfortable.

  Great week at Spindrift with kids, parents & grandparents. Loved the proximity to the beach (access was a block away on a quiet street, then a short trek through the dunes), golf course and state park - we took advantage of all three multiple times. It's
  about a mile from town, which wasn't a problem for us (we're a family of walkers). The house was a great fit for us, with a large family room, open kitchen and big dining table. Kids loved the ping pong table in the garage. Only issues were the light over
  the dining table didn't work, and we couldn't get either tv to work beyond DVDs (fortunately we brought along a good supply of kid & adult movies). My mom and I loved the puzzle cabinet and had a puzzle going pretty much all week. All in all a fabulous week
  - we would rent Spindrift again in a minute next year, except we've got an addition to the family which pushes us up over the guest limit (even though the house would have plenty of room). I wish we were still there!!!

  the house was awesome, we loved the location and general uncluttered appearance. The only suggestions/issues were as follows: it would be nice to have a directionary and maybe some maps in the house. Also the pottery in the kitchen is definitely not ok for the microwave. It gets very hot, burned my husband badly. Also a few more lamps in the living room would be nice and the light in the ceiling fan was burned out. It would also be nice to have instructions on how to use the tv/dvd and fireplace. The only major negative about the house is I think there's a mold issue in both bathrooms and you can smell that throughout the house. I think if they remodel the bathrooms they should include heaters in the walls and that would take care of the mold problem and smell. I kept the fan on in the upstairs bathroom the whole time we were there and the doors closed and that reduced the smell.
  But overall, we love, love, loved the house and didn't want to leave.

  The house was exactly as presented on the website. We were very happy with everything about the house. All the beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for everyone (8 of us). The only thing we noticed was that there were 2 burned out bulbs in the kitchen area and there were no instructions to work the tv/dvd player. We figured it out but instructions would have been nice. Everyone agreed that they would like to return to the same house next year. The beach was great - close enough and great for walking to town.

  everything was fabulous we loved the house, the windows, comfy couch and the little extras like dishsoap and clothes soap, perfect location and I want to thank your office people for being so helpful in having the patience helping me pick out the house, just one suggestion, the king size bed was a bit too hard, maybe provide an eggshell for those who don't do well with too firm a bed otherwise thank you all was great!!!

  We rented the house for a family reunion. It was perfect. We were even able to fit all 9 of us at the dinner table in comfort. Easy access to a lovely beach. Nice deck for enjoying the sun and the sound of the surf. Would be nice to have more outdoor furniture for the deck.

  There were 6 in our party and we all had a great time in the Spindrift House.
  Things we thought were great:
  1. Very close to the beach and close enough to the town.
  2. Great view of the beach from the main floor.
  3. Very comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms
  4. Big kitchen table which sat 8 was used for conversation, puzzles and eating.
  5. Great garage party room.
  6. Nice big kitchen
  7. Big screen TV was great for movies and sports.
  8. Comfortable furniture
  
  Things that need fixing:
  1. No heat in the downstairs bedroom with the bunkbeds. Very cold and the mattresses on the bunkbeds were uninhabitable for adults. Kids would be ok with them.
  2. The kitchen did not have a potato peeler which seems pretty basic. There were beaters but no mixer for making mashed potatoes. The toaster did not work.
  3. The reference book states that this house sleeps 10 people but only allows 2 cars to park at the house. How can 10 people get to the house in 2 cars? Ridiculous rule. The driveway easily fits 4 cars.
  
  Would we stay at this house again? Absolutely!!

  Overall very good. Only complaint is that it was advertised to have a fireplace but when we got there there was a sign on the fireplace that said it didn't work.

  The home was clean and comfortable and we appreciated that the home owners supplied fire wood, kites, children's toys and books. There was ample space at the dining table and in the living room and we enjoyed the playroom/garage. We wish that the house
  had more mugs and toilet paper/paper towels that lasted our rental period. The house was close to the beach but not particularly close to town.

  When we arrived we could not get any heat for the house but we called management who responded quickly and sent out an electrician who fixed the problem quickly.

  Overall, quite satisfied. Only compaints:
  Other houses we've rented in years' past had much better-stocked kitchens (in terms of cookware/utensils). Silverware drawer sticks badly. Laminated house instruction book smells badly of cat urine.

  Our kids were scared to stay downstairs in the kids' room because the windows are on the ground floor, facing the front, and the room is secluded from the rest of the house. Bedding is juvenile so our pre-teen didn't want to be there. Home location is great though. Very quiet & close to the beach and Nehelem Park! SVR staff were very helpful!

  This home is in an excellent location, within a short walking distance to the beach. It is well equipped, has a nice deck with a propane grill and peek-a-boo view of the ocean, nice firm beds and an awesome big screen t.v. for rainy days. The home is surrounded by pines which makes it very private. We liked this home but would make a few suggestions to improve its utility for guests. We would suggest the place needs to be fully finished before it rents at prime rates. There were a few rooms that looked like they were works-in-progress such as the laundry (no landing space or functional utility sink) and the bunk bed room had no dressers or hanging space for clothing and no door. The kids loved this, of course, since they had a bonafide excuse to throw everything on the floor. I would also suggest all the extra towels be stored in the laundry room instead of in every drawer in each of the bathrooms. This would make room for guests toiletries in drawer space. Lower the mirror in the downstairs bathroom so those of us who are vertically challenged can see more than the top of our heads. The refrigerator should eventually be updated to be full size for a property that accomodates 8-12 people. Having said the above, the needed improvements were relatively minor and nothing kept us from enjoying the home and having a really good vacation. Thank you.
