Rockaway Beach - Valhalla is perfect for family reunions or large retreats with its spacious floor plan and extra ammenities. As soon as you walk into this luxurious two-story home, you will notice the recently updated kitchen, stainless steel appliances, and the large granite countertops. The dining room features a sliding door out to the deck where you can move your dinner parties on sunny days or walk a few more steps and have a picnic right on the beach! Circle around to the living room that has an enormous brick fireplace and plenty of room for everyone to sit down and relax by the fire. Go upstairs and step through the double doors into the master bedroom where you will be blown away by the spectacular ocean view. Step out onto the balcony and sip your coffee as you watch the birds swoop down to the ocean. On the other end of the house, is a large kid's room with four twin beds, a TV with VCR and plenty of room for them to play. Centrally located upstairs is a large jucuzzi tub, perfect for soaking your worries away or head over to the sauna and feel your stress melt away.

    We really enjoyed staying in this home with a large family group. Kids could play in the very spacious upstairs room with twin beds and hardly be heard downstairs in main room as it was on opposite end of home. The master bedroom was the most spacious I've ever seen with an amazingly private large deck just steps from the bed. The kitchen island is huge and was perfect for extra Thanksgiving food. Staff was very helpful in accomodating extra needs for us also. Quiet spot with great beach access a few feet from the back deck. The only trouble with it is that it's a little dangerous for older folks as you must climb approx 15-20 feet down large boulders to get to the beach. Great place though!

    Sunset Vacation Rentals does an excellant job maintaining this home. We have rented through them before and will rent through them again in the future. If we had to say anything negative about this home... it would be that being a premium property which demands premium rates it would be nice if there was better than the bare minimum cable coverage...though we do not go to the beach to watch television it would be a good additon especially during the winter months.

    The week was great. The only disappointments came from the nonworking CD player, no DVD player for the kids films, the microwave ceased working on day 2 and the steps were broken from the front deck to the water - everything else was great.

    Fabulous location for a family gathering. The view is outstanding and there is plenty of room inside for all sorts of activities if the weather is a bit on the chilly side! Enjoyed ice cream, Lattes, and the arcade a couple of blocks away.

    We vacuumed and swept several times and found a lot of dog hair. We had people in our group with animal allergies and selected this house because the information read, "No Pets". Otherwise there were just minor problems such as bathroom locks that were in poor condition. We loved the location.

    We loved it! The place is in the perfect location-close to town and RIGHT ON the beach! The house was very spacious and well-equipped (although we couldn't get very many radio stations). I would come back again and again - if I had the money, I would love to buy the place - perfect!

    We had a wonderful time and loved the house. The view was fantastic and it felt like the ocean was coming right into the master bedroom. We did not plan on watching TV, which was a good thing because neither of the two TV's worked. There was a VCR, but no connecting cable. The stereo did not function either. For our stay, this was ideal, but if you want electronics, it may be best to bring your own.

    can't beat the location and beach access, you can sit on the balcony and patio and feel like you're practically on the beach! upper balcony even has wind block. large equipped kitchen and island was excellent for large group cooking, would definitely come back here again, only wish the minimum night stay was less in the summer!

    We rented Valhalla for a work function and it was fabulous! There was plenty of room, the beach access was magnificent, the view from the master bedroom was spectacular (full moon + ocean), the kitchen accommodated our large group well and the place was

    We very much enjoyed staying here and the location right on the beach is awesome. TV only has basic cable, though so if you want to watch the big game on FSN or ESPN, you'll have to hit the local sports bar. Also, the hot tub is not really a hot tub but more like a large jetted tub --no internal heat.

    We loved the house--plenty of room, lots of hot water, beautiful location. Our bed was quite nice (smaller room upstairs) and the pillows were great. The best part of the house was the balcony overlooking the beach! I enjoyed having a w/d in the house, also. Seems like it could've been a little cleaner, but I understand we were there at the end of summer and it was probably used quite a lot throughout. I think we left it cleaner than when we got there (and I know it's hard to keep that sand out!) The vacuum and dishwasher didn't work super well but were adequate. I think the kitchen supplies were plentiful but were just randomly all over the place (no order). I know these are quite insignificant details, but everything else was very nice. We looked in the garage for a shovel and it smelled really bad! Overall, a really nice place we would stay at again.

    Everything was great. The kitchen faucet was loose when we arrived and there was no seal around it. If water gets splashed on the counter (as it generally does during dishwashing) it leaks into the cabinet below. Just so you are aware. The absence of beach chairs was a little annoying. They cost about $10 at your local rite aid. It wouldn't be much of an investment. Other than that we loved it. It was great for the kids and great for the adults. We would definitely consider it again in future.
