Our family loved this place. When we weren't across the street at the beach, the kids spent hours and hours swimming, paddle-boating and fishing in the lake right outside. Everything was in like new condition and very upscale...we weren't 'roughing it' AT ALL! Now, that's a vacation both parents and kids can love.
It was even better that the photos. It was nice to sit and have coffee on the patio and watch the kids in the paddle boat-not something we could have done if we stayed ocean front. It was a relaxing way to keep everyone both safe and entertained. And the walk to the beach is seriously less than two blocks! We'll be back.
Great place -- we enjoyed our stay very much. Would suggest replacing broken coffee maker and fixing paddle boat (it doesn't steer, making it impossible to enjoy).
We had a wonderful time. The house was lovely. Beach access was easy with miles of sandy beach to roam. Lake was great for fishing. Paddle boat was fun, but should be noted it was non-trivial to move. It weighed over 100lbs and two people can move it, but not easily. Still, worth it. We used it multiple times every day of our 5 day stay.
Everything is new and top quality. GREAT KITCHEN. Kids size paddle boat for days of fun on the lake. The lake front view looks like a post card the the town of Rockaway has everthing but still has that small beach town feeling.$90.00 cleaning fee is excessive and should be reviewed. Other than the cleaning fee, it was a perfect weekend. We have already told our friends to check this place out before booking their next beach trip.

It was very fun to have the lake to play in when the beach was too windy. We fished and used the paddle boat.

What a great time we had. The condo was spaceous and very nice. Must rate it as an excellent stay overall. Lake view was awesome, varying from morning to evening. One critic, could really use internet access. Will probably choose not to stay again (sigh) due to inability to check up on business emails. Seems sad to me because its the nicest place I have ever stayed on the coast. Would highly reccommend it to people who don't need internet. Michael
Great place to take four early teen boys for vaca.Paddleboat was a big plus. House was very clean and roomy,just needs a can opener! Great grass area by lake for kids to play soccer or tag, etc. Salamander season was in full bloom, so hours were spent on the dock hunting for the little critters and gently holding them. My only caveats would be that the property is called "Spring Lake House" and it is really a condo, not a house. There are several properties strung together. Also, it is right next to the main road in Rockaway, so traffic noise can be an issue. Lastly, there isn't a whole lot to do or see in Rockaway, so plan accordingly. We went for a hike behind the property but couldn't find a way around the whole lake. Only two blocks away from the beach, which was wonderful! Arcade in town for the kids as well as a few shops. We just enjoyed the lake and watching the kids have fun while WE enjoyed a glass of wine lakeside!
The place is excellently located with a Lake and Beach close by. The only thing that would have helped is a better workig paddle boat. We could not turn it around properly in the water and no instructions. Life jackets were missing. Paddle boat was one of the big reasons for us to pick this location.
Pros: Loved the location. Great fishing in the lake. Short walk to great ocean beach. Very nice amenitites inside. Master suite was very nice. Cons: Paddle boat was hassle to move from garage to dock and back. There was a hole in the wall upon our arrival which made me a bit nervous about blame. Mgr was cool about it though. Master suite TV and DVD player did not work.
kitchen utensils were very minimal; more pillows in the master bedroom would have been helpful. otherwise, the place was very nice and clean.
